three good things:
1. a glass of of sikhye, and my mother sharing the memory of her own mother making it in the rice cooker.
2. a conversation with my father about the big o, westernization, and what it means to live in a city with no memory.
3. a compliment from a friend: 'one of the things that you do so well is you anchor your characters in their histories--their cultural histories, their personal history, the histories of their friends and lovers‏.'
one good thing about myself: i helped look after a scared, lost child until he could find his mama again.
