three good things:
1. a sweet, philosophical e-mail from a former workfriend.
2. my partner's attitude toward cooking disasters -- we're both anxious people who fret over our mistakes, but xie always laughs off an unexpected turn in the kitchen with good humor and grace.
3. successful tostados.
one good thing about myself: i had a conversation about race and culture and fiction with a friend that could have been fraught, but we both came from a place of openness and curiosity, and that made it delightful.
