had a panic attack this morning, so a special edition
good things:
1. tom, who i've known since high school, who's seen me in sadness and in giddy joy, who trusts me and tries to understand me, who can't help but care and care deeply, who strives to be balanced and kind, and who's spoken up for my perspective when others have tried to tear it down.
2. yui, who i met when my partner told me she wrote about living dolls in the dark places of the earth, and whose enthusiasm for stories is matched only by her sensitivity, and who wished for my happiness and braided my hair when i asked for kind words to help me through my panic.
3. zack, who i found when i got up the courage to involve myself in a common fandom, who is drawn to narratives about self-improvement and likewise tries to improve themself, and who was cutting and insightful when they broke down abusive behavior and told me i didn't deserve it.
4. flores, who i had a friendcrush on and told her so one valentine's day, who values hufflepuff kindness as much as ravenclaw intelligence and has learned to value it in herself, and who was and has always been kind to me, who is there to listen when i need to know i'm not alone.
5. venneh, who i followed at a point that seemed inevitable, who shares so many enjoyments of mine and can emote about what's on the television with me, and who told me today about her old girl, a rescue cat with white fur and black spots who looks so very pettable and huggable.
6. mike, who i followed when i noticed how much his humor and his taste in retweets resonated with my own, who's quick to offer comfort, and who in my panic showed me a picture of a dog with the fluffiest scruff and the sweetest eyes, and ohgoodness, what a good doggie.
7. gil, who is my partner of seven years, who's at my side even when zie's not on my side, who is always honest with me and who has taught me that i can be honest in return, and who makes my days better just by being, by giving me the chance to think 'yes, this person is in the world.'
thing i like about myself: i like the depth of gratitude i feel, and i like myself when i express it. thank you.
