1. how far the kids i teach have come, learning to share the things they love, learning to see other people as people and as friends.
2. an exchange in drakon between two characters i'm fond of -- and who are very fond of each other, despite the urge to self-protection and secrecy they've learned from both their families. 'i want nothing more than to live in your library and speak to you about spinoza at your fireside.'
3. this gorgeous gift from my sweetheart.
one thing i like about myself: as the kids in my class learn, i'm learning, too -- today i settled conflicts with grace where i once would've been paralyzed with anxiety.
